OUR STORY
Our story is a true reflection of Oregon — a vibrant tapestry woven from diverse cultures, deep-rooted values, and a shared passion for craftsmanship and care. Our wines embody the depth and character of the Ribbon Ridge AVA, shaped by the life journeys that brought us here.
Our farming roots stretch back to our grandfather — lovingly known as Aga-Joon — who raised our father on a farm in Iran, where pomegranates, grapes, and a variety of crops flourished. The lessons of cultivation, resilience, and deep respect for the land remain foundational to our philosophy and our commitment to sustainable farming. After settling in Oregon, our family built connections through gatherings centered around our New York–Italian mother’s homemade dishes — always prepared with fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. These shared meals became a celebration of community, culture, and care.
Today, with over half a century spent in Oregon, we’ve built Tystrya — a place where tradition meets terroir, and where wine becomes a bridge between past and present. Most importantly, it’s a place where friends, both new and old, are always welcome.

The Outdoor Pavilion
Our signature open-air venue, perfect for summer, features a wood-fired pizza oven, oversized smoker, and sweeping vineyard views. Nestled at the forest’s edge, it hosts up to 100 guests and embodies the spirit of Oregon gatherings.
The Studio
Minimalist and elegant, the Studio offers a serene space for private tastings and special events. Framed by forest and sky, it reflects the refined simplicity of the Pacific Northwest.
Scenic Patios

Sustainable Farming
At Tystrya Estate, nestled in the heart of the Ribbon Ridge AVA, we are proud to farm with intention, working in harmony with nature to preserve the integrity of our soils, our vines, and the greater ecosystem that surrounds us. From cover cropping and composting to our integration of sheep and chickens in the vineyard during winter and spring, every decision we make is rooted in stewardship and respect for the land.
We are LIVE Certified (Low Input Viticulture & Enology), a rigorous third-party certification that reflects our commitment to responsible viticulture. This means our farming practices meet high standards for environmental care, biodiversity, and social responsibility. Being LIVE Certified ensures that each vintage from Tystrya not only expresses the purity of our terroir — but does so with a conscience. For us, sustainability is about leaving the land better than we found it, one thoughtful season at a time.
In addition, our vineyard is Salmon-Safe — a designation that recognizes our efforts to protect native waterways from harmful agricultural runoff. This means the choices we make in the vineyard contribute to the health of Oregon’s watersheds and the survival of its native salmon populations.
